TEALEAVESAssociate | Accountant POSITION SUMMARYPrepares and analyzes financial information to provide accurate and useful information to management for review and decision-making. Establishes and maintains accounting policies. Prepares financial reports and safeguards the organization's assets. Analyzes, classifies, and reviews accounting transactions and interrelationships. Prepares interpretation of accounting results and advises management. Examines financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and principles. May have lead responsibilities for special projects.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESGENERAL ACCOUNTING (MICROSOFT DYNAMICS ERP)• Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as credit card and receipt entry, balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules.• Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions, e.g. bank deposit, invoicing, and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.• Ensures that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations.• Prepares journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit train support for the journal entries.• Examines a variety of financial statements and documents for complete¬ness, accuracy, and conformance with accounting requirements. • Provides financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.• Prepares projections of accounting data to show effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition.• Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts and financial statements and reports. • Classifies and/or reviews recording of accounting transactions.• Prepares and/or reviews interpretation of accounting results. Advises management on the meaning of the results.• Suggests, recommends, and implements changes to accounts, reports and administrative or data processing systems.• Identifies accounting problems, researches possible solutions, and forms conclusions to present to the supervisor or other individuals involved. Corrects problems.• Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.• Prepares complex financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.• Schedules and follows up on account collection. Contacts customers to resolve account problems.• Reports to KPMGEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Chartered Accountant or Certified General Accountant designation. • Experience at Big Four preferred. • Advanced understanding and proven skills of Microsoft Excel. Location: South Vancouver, BC - SW Marine Dr Compensation: Competitive salary within $55,000 to $75,000 range, commensurate upon experiencePrincipals only.
